The other day we had to...

Put our Twin Otter on floats back in the water after an inspection, so I decided to tag along!

This beautiful Otter is owned by Cliff of Athabasca Fishing Lodge.

Now this is something we don't see every day. Excellent! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Thanks for taking us along.

Only once have I ever seen a plane put onto the water before. All of the photos are great. Good job!

Good morning all... :)

Just looking at your last picture Wade, the DeHavilland Canada Bufffalo and Caribou along with the Consolidated Canso all had the engine controls in the same location.

I have heard over the years many folks comment on seeing this configuration at airshows how awkward it must have been.
It really was not, having put a good many hours in the left seat of the "Pig Boat" Canso mounting the engine controls where you see them in the Twin Otter gave the pilot much more control when adjusting settings and when landing and taking off.  No they were not head bangers either.

Just another quick question Wade.
Do the lads still use the little red, white and blue rubber balls cut in half to replace the float plugs they lose over the side of the float when they do their daily ritual of pumping the water out of them?   ;D
I lost my share of float plugs and I keep a supply of those rubber balls for our 185s EDO Floats here.   ;)

Oh and if you have any information on the flying outfit you are working for like routes and aircraft types feel free to post it.  I think the folks here would be interested.   ;)
