Shuttleworth Military Pageant 2

Postby Hagar » Mon Jul 06, 2009 11:35 am

More visiting display aircraft. This was a first time at Old Warden for some of them.

A T-6 pretending to be an SNJ. This was displayed with the resident T-6. Until recently it was based at Shoreham.
Note the lack of shadows. The sun was hiding behind a big black cloud during this part of the show.

This smart Stearman put on a nice aerobatic display. The sun was still behind that black cloud but I caught it later as it was leaving in the bright sunshine.
Image

The Cessna Bird Dog complete with rocket racks. One of only two examples registered in the UK. This chap is quite a regular visitor. A surprisingly large aeroplane.
Image

A nice surprise. The Nanchang CJ-6A shown off beautifully by one of its owners, Didier Keller. A very graceful display.
Image

The Sabre closed the show with a lovely display. Glad I managed to catch it before it leaves for the US at the end of the season.

Another nice surprise. The Vampire T.11 from North Weald requested a fly-by after the show had finished.

Some of the best I've seen from you, Doug... really outstanding angles, etc.! 8-)

Love that Vampire... it was a Vampire fly-by, one low pass, at a little air show in Vermont that made that last thread of sanity in my head snap, and I immediately decided to pursue flying.  ;D

Those Bird dogs are indeed petty large, and quite tall. I've been hearing a lot lately about how they are (surprisingly) difficult to land with polish... not sure why, but there you have it.  I figure it's a Cessna, can't be all that bad. Must be easier than a C-195, that's for sure! ;D

Excellent Doug, the 1st one of the Sabre, should be framed.
