Study the weather patterns for the day. Most storm chasers dont actually chase a storm they try to put themselves infront of a storm and wait for it to come to them. Look for where the worst weather is predicted and aim to be there for at least an hour before hand. If you can take a laptop with roaming internet then even better to keep an eye on the radars.

I believe most chasers also try to stay on the south side of the storm.  Most storms move east/north east, and the real exciting part is in the SW quadrant (tornadoes).

Yeah, I was a little late because I was at work with no vehicle and had to wait for a ride to go pick up my truck. :P

You guys are right though, assuming the storms are moving to the north east, the best place to watch is from the south east side of the storm, assuming it's a supercell and you're looking for a tornado.

We don't very often get violent storm cloud formations like that, over here, so they are a bit scary/exciting on the rare occasions when they do occur!... :o...!

The lightning produced generally interrupts our Electricity Supply and Radio Communication for a short while.....then it's all passed over quickly!

I like how he tells the story of his chase, seems like all kinds of things go wrong for him everytime he chases  ;D
