First cut of Spring...

Postby Fozzer » Sun Mar 22, 2009 8:17 am

A fantastic, warm, Sunny day this morning!

The grass in my lawn, back and front, had finally dried out after the Winter Months, so I filled up my trusty Petrol Lawn Mower, (with the 7 litre V-8 twin-turbocharged engine), with some new, fresh Petrol, (as you have to after a long lay-off)....

..and away we went...

Job done..garden looking nice and tidy..

Time for a sit down with a glass of Napa Valley Red, and a satisfied grin on my chubby face... :-*...!

The yellow flowers on the tree are Forsythia, together with the Cowslips, are always the first indication that Spring has finally arrived...Woo-Hoo!

Paul... :)...!

Good morning Paul    :)

Afraid we are a long way off seeing any grass here to cut.  Still lots of snow around  and today it is minus twelve "C" with a good wind chill as well.

I do love to hum that song "In an English Country Garden" and I change the words just to drive the old girl off her rocker.   ;D

You need a few fruit trees to make your own wine.   ;)

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Nice... I can almost smell it. :)
The house I grew up in was surrounded by tall forsythia hedges... that fragrance always says "Spring is here",  to me.
Looks good! Amazing how the grass benefits from the nutrients provided by stray dogs and cats, and miscreant children... ;D
