The green light looks very cool there (it is green isn't it?)

Rest is a bit orangey, but I suppose that can't always be helped in those sorts of conditions.

I think the orangy tone is a nice touch, looks like the ground is glowing!

I like it but feel its just slightly overexposed. The whites (on the nose and the leading edge of the wing) look washed out to me.

I still like the idea and the color  ;D

How does the piper warrior compare? My school uses those for all the new pilots and dosen't use any Cessna's.. ever actually. I was kind of surprised beacuse I thought the low wing system would just add complications, especially if your getting your first hours in it.

Piper Warriors would work too.  I have never flown one though.   The main thing being that whatever it is can fly into IMC.  I do have quite a bit of time though in a Piper Arrow and a Piper Seminole.

I only said Cessna because that's what we use for our Instrument course.

A good tip for night photography is to take using RAW and then change the white balance in PP to get rid of the yellow cast causes by the lights

You could, but then that is the natural colour of sodium lighting. There are time to change the lighting, and times not to. I think that this should stay as it is......Just my thoughts though.

cool thanks for the tip!  I'll definitely give it a try. I still have lots to learn.

What recommendations do you have for shooting cockpit photos (esp. glass cockpits with bright lcd displays) in dim light?  I tried shooting the glass cockpit in our Piper Arrow but the top half of the PFD came out overexposed.

I agree with you there too, and in this particular picture that's what it actually looked like.  Just wish I had a sharper lens.  Gotta start saving the $$ though.
