He chose to be a Chemical Specialist right now. Later a Sgt.. He doesn't know where he will be stationed yet. He put in for Kentucky, Germany or Hawaii. I want Kentucky so he will be close to me, but unfortunately he will be going to Iraq or Afghanistan first. I'm his mother and I don't want him to go to either of those places, but I know its not up to me.

You can put in for wherever you want, put chances are they'll decide where you go. I leave for navy boot in two months and I put in for Okinawa. But I know that won't happen. :P

I know that they do. I will be here for him no matter where he goes. Good luck at boot camp.

Wow, No amount of money could get me to go into the Chemical Corps. Train with live nerve agents? No thanks... :o

I prefer C-4... ;D

I've seen a few pictures that they took during his training. Doesn't look like fun. :)

[quote]No he is not a member. His interest are else where. He wants to make a career out of the Army. He wants to become a Sgt.. He liked basic but not as much as AIT.

Being a Sergeant?  It's quite a challenge, but very rewarding.  I guess it depends on the branch of service.  I know my job can be rather stressful, but I wouldn't give my stripes up for the world.  It's a respected rank, but the higher ups also expect a lot more out of you.  I just spent the past week getting my ass chewed for some pretty silly stuff, but just before that, I spent the last two months riding on cloud 9 getting all sorts of praise and commendations...it all depends on the tempo at work.

It's great because you are the boss, but it sucks because you aren't THE boss.  I guess that's the best way to put it.
