Exactly what BAW said, try them all, and decide which one you are the most comfy with.  It's great that you are seeking advice from all of us here at SimV, but everyone has their own method of shooting pictures, so you need to decide which one is the best feeling/quality with your style of photography  ;)

Canon is the best. I read the reviews for that camera and they are pretty good. It has great zoom and everything a point and shoot needs. The Nikons are very simple and the reviews are bad.

Go to a local Best Buy and try and find the same models and see which one you like best.

My vote is always for canon but I don't like the digital zoom at all and that's mainly what you have on that one, but the Nikon only has 5x zoom, but its all optical so you could crop and get the same essential zoom as the Canon. and Nikon usually does better with low light situations.

Its a tough call, if you cant get to a Best Buy then search for User Reviews from 3rd party sites (non canon or Nikon websites) and go with whatever they say are better on there.
