Boxing Day at Popham

Postby Hagar » Sat Dec 27, 2008 4:36 am

Due to popular demand Popham was one of the few airfields open on Boxing Day. I nipped down there to renew my club membership & see what was going on. The weather was brilliant if a tad chilly round the old lug'oles.

One of the three Beagle Pups that live on the airfield.

Another resident. A very smart Jodel.

Several interesting visitors from private airstrips dropped in for fuel & a slap-up breakfast. These aptly named little Tipsy Nippers are becoming popular in these parts.

The aircraft on finals in the above shot is a beautiful Zlin Trener. First time I've seen it. I caught him later when he departed.

Low pass right in front of the clubhouse to say goodbye. Darn it, I missed a nice top shot there.

Thanks for the reminder of the delightful little Tipsy Nipper, Doug...;)..!

Just re-installed my (lost) FS 2002 Model* back into my FS 2004... [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]..!

A fantastic little machine, with a surprising turn of speed, and loads of fun to fly, and highly responsive to power settings!

Its what low level, airstrip to airstrip flying is all about!... 8-)...!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004...and the occasional "Tipsy"... ;)...!

I imagine the Tipsy Nipper's a good "credit crunch" aeroplane. :)

Wonderful looking Zlin! Not a type we see that often. And a Tipsy Nipper always makes me smile...  :)

Love that Zlin... must be a joy to fly, if the 242 is any indication.
