My NEW laptop!

Postby Ravang » Tue Oct 28, 2008 4:47 pm

My old trusty computer finally had it this weekend, a strong wind storm came and knocked the power out at my house. When I tried to restart my computer it wouldn't start, so I was aloud to get a new computer, first time getting one the I didn't need to rebuild to get it to work. I got a Gateway T-6330u Notebook from Best Buy, it has Windows Vista Home Premium with SP1, a 2.00GHz Intel Pentium dual-core processor, 3 Gb of DRR2 RAM, an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 video card with 384 MB of video memory, a 250 GB hardrive, and a built in card reader (a big plus for me, just 'pop' in my camera's SD card and go!) ;D

So far I'm happy... 8-)

I did find a excellent Mac-type dock menu for Vista, looks good...

NICE!!!! That scenery looks a lot like the glacier where my brother spent part of his Alaskan vacation.

;D ;D I'll give it to you, quite imaginative. A power cut killed my computer. The number of times I have pulled the plug out of the wall because one has crashed and or hung...............and started it up again. What you should do now, is tell your parents you have junked it. Put back in what ever plug you removed and then get a friend to sell it on ebay ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

A while back I was complaining to my wife that my desktop needed a RAM expansion. I was told that we had other priorities...............So I left it a week or so and just eased one of the RAM chips out so that the computer had dropped from 2 MB to 1 MB. I then let my wife complain to two days about how slow the computer was whist she was trying to write report cards. I took the lid of the computer ran a couple of bench mark tests with the screen full of numbers that she had no clue about (me too ;D) and confidently said that a RAM chip had burnt out........................Now got 4 MB slotted in and FSX running like a dream. The old 2 MB...........sold to a freind who is sworn to secrecy until the day he dies ;D ;D

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.
