Autumn in Old England

As opposed to New England that is. A couple of weeks ago I visited Sir Winston Churchill's home at Chartwell in Kent. Here's a few shots of the beautiful grounds surrounding the lake. The Autumn colours are a little disappointing this year but the views make up for it. I can understand why the great man loved this place.

No shots of the house as it's surrounded by scaffolding. The roof is being replaced.

Interesting how the grounds of Chartwell are very similar to the rolling hills around Bladon and Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire.

A real example of England's green and pleasant lands. Hopefully the credit crunch will slow down the progressive concreting over of southern England. :)

.......these are among the best I've seen from you, and I'll bet that you'll still say that you're only a picture taker ? .......no chance, the shots you have given us a peek at, prove that you're a photographer.......with a keen eye to boot !


ps:  If you've never shot through a Polarizer, maybe you might try one......it can affect the sky in such a striking way........

Thanks for the encouragement Ken. I'm gradually improving. I've been using a polarising filter for several years. These shots were taken using it.

..reminds me why I always use Gerrish Greys glorious, golden, "Autumn Trees" for ALL my FS 2004 Sim Flights.. :)...!

Gives me that warm, cosy feeling during my Sim flights around the countryside... :)...!
