He can't do much of a show without a flight line, but he still looked gorgeous during the 3 or 4 passes he made.  I never get tired of that paint job.

Thanks Fozz, more to come!!!  When it was time for the Blue Angels to do their show, it was like someone cut all the lines on all the boats in the harbor, they appeared out of nowhere, flocking to the center of the show area.  Poor Coast Guard and Police boats probably didn't even get to watch the show they were so busy chasing boats out of the restricted areas

Fozzer is right. These are very nice shots of the bay.

They obviously don't realise the risk they're taking. Reminds me of when one of the Red Arrows clipped a yacht mast during a display at Brighton in 1980. Fortunately the pilot ejected safely & the Hawk crashed in the sea so nobody was hurt. The Reds have never displayed at Brighton since.

This shot was taken when the pilot was ejecting. The two flagpoles are on the end of the pier. http://www.ejection-history.org.uk/PROJECT/Biographies/J/Johnson_S-red-arrows/Johnson_S.htm

I recommend you go see a Blue Angels show at an air base then, Fat Al's ground demo is absolutely terrific!  JATO demo's to short field landings and such.

yeah theres nothing better than seeing a plane go from the ground to 1000 ft in less than a minute ;D

At SFO they don't do the JATO take off because the runway is long enough. but they use every inch of it and pull up at the last second :D

Like this :D

Looks great on youtube, but you have to feel the punch of the jets in person, and to see a C-130 go vertical in person is just breathtaking...

yeah then see it sit there like its going to fall out of the sky ;D

Yeah I can only imagine. Hopefully they will all be at a near air show I go to. When it flew over low the roars that it made were awesome. ;)
