Bug Soup Anyone?

Postby Ravang » Sun Sep 28, 2008 9:21 am

Been watching this spider for a few days, got some video/pictures of it trapping a few insects but these is the biggest thing I've seen it catch yet...

This spider is very, very fast as well.

(I really need a DSLR... ;))

When Vegetarians go rabbiting on about Humans should concentrate on eating Cabbages instead of Cows, it makes you realise that most species are quite happy eating other species....or even each other!....in their search for Protein... ;)...!

F....another Bowl of Moth soup, Please.....with croutons..... :)...!

Excellent Photograph!....I like Spiders... ;)...!

Nice! I captured a few spiders myself lately, now that season is on again round here! Any idea how big the spider is right now.

Its body is about 2.5 cm long, but from its back legs to it front legs is about 7-8 cm. :)

...I haven't gotten brave (or dumb :P) enough to pick it up...which is why I can still type this... ;D

Common garden spider. There was one trying to spin a web above a door here. Rather than walk into it's web every time I went out I coaxed it onto a stick and placed it in the garden.
When I was a tot we would catch grasshoppers and throw them onto the garden spiders' webs. Possibly a bit sadistic but entertatining none the less. :D
