You can keep it as long as you give him Paul's other leg to chew on   ;D ;D

LOL.... ;D...!

It's a funny old do, but any Dogs natural reaction to seeing me is to bark, and strain at the owners lead, to get at me... :o...!

Dog owners tell me that Dogs are able to sense if Folks don't like them... :(...!

One of my Sons has a lovely Dog which is terrified of me, and will not come anywhere near me, or my House!...(It was miss-treated by its previous owner),

If I pass a Dog*, I must always make sure not to look at it in the eyes, or it will automatically go ballistic!... :o....!

A flag pops up in their brain which says...."KILL!"... >:(.... ;D...!

(I would love to know why it is?)... ::)...!

F....Woof-woof... 8-)...!

* ...sounds painful!... :-[... ;D...!

Looking a dog in the eyes can be seen as a threat...

...funny thing is, I have that exact same effect on most Animals, small Children...

...and Folks in Authority...

.... ;D...!

F....G-BPLF... 8-)...!

...how can one approach a Dog, without appearing to be a threat, and having one's hand bitten off when trying to pat/stroke it?...:o...!

I'm sure that dogs & other animals can smell fear. I used to be terrified of dogs. I would actually cross the road to avoid contact with one. I was even attacked by one once when I was walking along minding my own business. The young schoolgirl who was walking it on the other side of the road was most embarrassed about it. The only explanation I could think of was that it mistook me for the postman as I was wearing a red jacket. It stopped dead just before getting my steel toe-capped boot in its gob.

I don't remember it but apparently this all stemmed from something that happened when I was a baby. It might sound silly but I was cured when we got my daughter a cat. By learning to handle the cat & talk to it I lost my fear of dogs. I'm still not a dog lover by any means but they seem to like me now. That's just as well as there are lots of dog owners around here. I've made lots of new friends when out walking by making a fuss of their dogs. You've heard the old saying "Love me, love my dog".

I still don't trust those yobboes walking around town with the more violent breeds on a chain. They seem to have them as status symbols.

PS. When approaching a dog I always let it sniff my hand before attempting to stroke it. I've never been bitten yet.
