Melsbroek Open Door - the not so common types...

Postby Omag 2.0 » Mon Sep 15, 2008 2:02 pm

Next to the C-130's and police-choppers, there was a stunning array of planes from several foreign airforces... Most of them I had never seen in real life or up-close before...

Embraer Xingu from the French Airforce. Belgian pilots are trained in multi-prop flying with this model in France.

Rather sexy looking IMHO...

Former Belgian Airforce plane, now registered in Holland, but still owned by a Belgian company. Used for arial photography. There's someting about these Swearingen Merlins. The long nose makes it look a bit odd...

Surprise of the day for me, this Italian Airforce C-27J Spartan. I was almost convinced this was the new Airbus A400, until I noticed it had just 2 props. Nice looking, but the Italian crew trying to sell miniature towers of Pisa was a bit of a turn-off... I know about Allitalia's troubles, but surely the military will be better off, right?  ;D

Some of Ozzy's former friends, the Hungarian Airforce with an A-26 Antonov... letting the engines cool down...

To bad they didn't depart later that evening, I'd love to get these birds in flight...

Still up for some choppers, fighters and mechanics?

Nice clear photos. It's good to see something different for a change. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I'm going to have to agree with you, that French Embraer sure looks good!
