Aha! Must be 'Giotto' then that encountered Haleys Comet in 1986. Heres me looking for pictures of the TOPEX/Poseidon satellite, cos TOPEX sounded like TOPO!!

This was taken in 1984 working on the Giotto spacecraft, which was Europes first deep space probe and eventually encountered Halleys Comet in 1986.
