Wings & Wheels - Static shots

Always nice to get so close to all those magnificent machines, but why did they ever invent those fences and why do they put everything so close to each other... oh, and for Hagar... the invasion of the safetyvests has begun here too... bright yellow this year, instead of milder orange...

Belgian Airforce prop-trainer... SIAI Marchetti SF-260...

The most impressive plane I saw there... I wasn't prepared for it's huge size!

Image

Charlie's collegues were present too, 2 Tuscano's and one Hawk (tucked away in an impossible corner)

Image

Second plane that blew me away. I knew it was big, but what a beast! Most wonderful thing happened here. An older woman neared the plane with her husband in a wheelchair. The poor guy was looking weak and miserable, until he saw this B-17. Life popped up in his eyes and a huge smile appeared on his face... magical moment.

I wanted to see a P-51 some time ago, but this one pops up at almost every show in Belgium lately... and I love it!  ;D

Lovely shots, Kris... :)...!

Barriers and fences....

We now have the same problem at our local Airfield....

Insurance...Health and Safety...Paranoia....and hi-viz yellow jackets!... :o

The cost of the metal barriers has now put up the price of our car/bike parking...and we are not allowed in the Hangar now...or anywhere near the parked Aircraft on open days... >:(...!

Its impossible to take photos without a Zoom Lens....I have given up now...!

Paul...G-BPLF.... 8-)...!

Very nice. The Tucanos seem to be regular attendees. Not sure if I ever flew '137. Maybe I'll find a way over one day in some sort of aeroplane.

Interesting looking airfield is Ursel. Looking at its size I take it that it used to be military? :)

It used to be. It's still military domain, but 2 flightclubs use it in the weekend.

Ursel was a fighterbase in WWII and stationed a Typhoon squadron, hence the link to the RAF.

If you ever fly over for this event, please give notice...  ;)

Some nice photos there Kris.

Oh dear, I see the British disease is spreading. If they don't do something about this soon we will all have to wear one of those things before venturing outside our front doors. When everyone is wearing one they might realise how ridiculous it is. ::)

Almost as bad as the invasion of the wheelie bins. These abominations are breeding like rabbits & rapidly becoming a blot on the landscape. We'll soon be overrun with the blasted things. They come in all shapes & sizes in a variety of colours. http://www.flickr.com/photos/lwr/sets/518801/

Rant over for now. LOL
