Oshkosh '08: part 7

Postby beaky » Mon Aug 04, 2008 9:58 am

Near show center now... this excellent Lo Presti Fury (based, obviously, on a Swift) flew an aerobatic display.

An equally excellent Spitfire... beautiful.

Other than the dramtic lighting and less people getting in the way of the aircraft,, another reason to go out early at Airventure is to catch what others may miss. Just happened to be near the flight line when a familiar-looking 707 arrived...

     Image

By the time they'd parked and Himself appeared, there was already a crowd (mostly swooning middle-aged women, LOL)... so I had to crop them out. ;D

Ella  is one fine machine, and he's very proud of her... note the reg. number.  ::) ;D

Later they parked the Red Bull B0-105next to it; the aerobatic display put on with this helicopter is a must-see.  :o

Next: part 8- random stuff; end of Day 2

Oh, is it John Travolta?

Yes. He wasn't wearing his airline captain's uniform this time, though. ;D

So cool that you posted this!!  My wife and I just watched Pulp Fiction and we were discussing his 707 and how cool it must be to have one, then I come over to SImV to check the forums and here it is  :D

Hey, you have to admitt... how many guys turn up in their own 707, dressed in a uniform... that has babe-magnet written all over it... Now, if he flew a 757 or A380, it might be young women, but a 707 will do for the older ladies...  ;D

That Spit passed through here on its way home.  It won best warbird this year.  The pilot said the plane is owned by the same guy who owns Glacier Girl.

I hear that if he took up any other jet type ratings he wouldn't have time to make any more movies...
