Oshkosh '08: part 6

Postby beaky » Mon Aug 04, 2008 8:07 am

Making my way across again, this time I head through the mfr's display area. There were many sublime and ridiculous new products- this Jabiru was one of the niftier ones.

And a classic workhorse- a magnificent Grand Caravan. This thing is tall!! :o

The FAA turns fifty this year...

Lots of cool aerobats, including this awesome Pitts 2-seater. Looks great with a radial on it.

Sigh... I think I'm in love with this perfect Cessna 170.

Image

But this old gal also turned my head- a rare Cessna 145, in a very elegant black paint. Never saw this one before, as I recall. Wow.

I was just reading an article about this Ryan ST...

Back on the flight line to watch and photograph the pre-show cavalcade of landings and takeoffs... this Swift pilot  consults with a volunteer "flag man".

Next: part 7-fury, spit, and Travolta's toy

I hate to say it but...that's not a Caravan...that's a Kodiak.  Not quite as classic, but still a workhorse!

That Kodiak is the first one with floats on it. My dad and I saw them being put on at Wipaire when we were there having our floats put on.
