 That is a good one,   She was my second wife,  my first died with leukemia.  That one may have lasted but hard to tell.  The secon one was eight years of hell,   I got a dog now.

Here's the ol 72 Sporty XLCH,  The last year produced stock with no turn signals .

Nothing wrong with a Trek; I like it. Cycling is great exercise, and fun... keep it up.  :)
I've been riding to and from the train most days lately, but when the weather cools off I hope to get out for some longer rides.

Once youve ridden 40 miles in one day in the cascade slopes you really begin hating bicycles! In any case that bike is better then mine, it still has rear brakes!

Sorry, don't take this the wrong way. Treks' parts branch Bontrager uses cheap metals and injects them with bubbles on the low end spectrum. Groupo matching is horrible the rear derailleur rarely cooperates with the front. Not to mention anything below a fuel or madone has shoddy robot welds that are buffed up.

If you're just going to cruise to get out there, I at least commend you on getting a trek rather than some walmart contraption. Those are a death trap.

I only got an ATB with front suspension and a hardtail. The Tire have roughly 3 times the width of a racing bike, so you can imagine the drag that excist when speeding up to 50KM/H

I think they are over priced and if I am not mistaken made in China also

And those handle bars,  nothing like riding with putting the bumps and grinds on a bent neck,  bin there.....

Nice bike!!  I have a TREK 430 I brought back in 1989 and it still is going strong!!  Second best bike I ever owned next to my Schwinn Orange Crate I had as a kid and still wished I had!!

Yeah, unless you're racing I don't get those bars... my last road bike (Raleigh Technium sport/touring, a fine bike) had "bull horn" type bars I made by sawing off the ends of the stock bar and turning it upside-down. More comfortable, but I could still "tuck" on downhills very comfortably. Hit 40 mph on that thing once, coming down a mountain road in near Jay, NY on my first solo tour of the 'dacks and Green Mountains.

The neck thing wasn't too bad on those trips (over 700 miles each), but I did notice that my wrists really took a beating.
