Yeovilton Air Day 08 - Jet Displays (P2)

Postby cspyro21 » Sun Jul 06, 2008 6:56 pm

The second half of my photos of the jet displays...enjoy!

Image
The VAAC Harrier T2 in a hover; it was brilliant to see a Harrier display! At the 05 show here, they annoucned that it would be the last show from frontline Navy Harriers, and I hadn't seen a Harrier display since, so hearing that deafening roar as the VAAC T2 hovered was a welcome sound ;D

Image
Another aircraft I'd not seen fly before, an F-86 Sabre, which put on a very good display (came complete with 'Cold War Smoke' ;D)

Image
Pulling out of a turn...

Image
The Sea Hawk trundling towards the active RWY; unfortunately, as with the Swordfish, she didn't fly due to the weather.

Image
However, the Sea Vixen flew though :D Was good to see her fly again.

Image
Another type I'd not seen fly, the de Havilland Vampire, very nimble little jet.

Image
And the Vampire's cousin, the de Havilland Venom, also a nimble little jet.

Next up, the Surprise Visitor! :)

Lovin' the Sabre and the Vampire... two of my faves. Too bad about the light, but an airshow snapshot is still an airshow snapshot... ;D
