Yaks

Postby Mobius » Sun Jun 15, 2008 10:47 am

The city of Middleton held a festival type thing yesterday that happened to be across the street from the airport, so the airport was open to the general public to walk around some of the more unique aircraft at the airport and get airplane rides if they wanted.  I stopped by and got to see my instructors Yak sitting out on the ramp for people to look at, so I took a look.

First, looking down at some of the aircraft that were out for people to look at...

At the other end of the line were the two resident Yak-52s, one is a tail-dragger version...

And the other one, my instructor's...

My instructor was up giving rides, but his wife was standing by the Yak, telling people about it, and luckily, I had met her the day before, so she offered to let me get a closer look...

The instrument panel, except everything is metric and Russian!...

The view out the front...

Thanks for looking. :)

Very nice, I love Yaks!  I have a couple of friends who fly Yak 55's.
The day is always better when you're flying upside down.
