Another brief glimpse at the plethora of aircraft on display...

Somebody asked to see the WACO? ;D

The MAAM's P-61 "Black Widow" restoration is coming along... lots of progress since last year. There are subassemblies not shown here that are also being rebuilt- this thing is gonna be incredible.
I see they managed to re-use at least one wing fillet... ;D this thing was a pitiful corroded wreck that was hauled off a jungle mountain; learn more here:

There was quite a crowd already gathered around this surviving "Black Widow" pilot... it was just good to see him there.

I don't think this Ercoupe has flown in some time, but I like the paint scheme, and it's a type worth looking at; a great little flyer from what I hear.

The cockpit of the 'coupe: I guess the markings are for educational purposes, or maybe the prior owner was forgetful. ;D

Quite an avionics suite here (for an Ercoupe)... very unusal. It's possible this one was certified for IFR.

Note the lack of rudder pedals and the single brake pedal- the Ercoupe was designed with rudders linked to the ailerons so it steered in the ground and in the sky much like a car. Works well enough, but many have been retrofitted with rudder pedals, for less interesting crosswind  landing and crosswind taxi (!) handling.

This PA-18 "Super Cub" was just gorgeous in "Cub yellow"...

The day's surprise guests... I forget where they are based. They did a few nice low passes.

Next: part 8: Gaga for Gooneys!!
