Great capture. We only had sheet lightning over the last couple of days. I took some pictures, but they just look like day time shots :(

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Wow, what an awesome shot, how'd you capture it?  Just a lucky squeeze of the trigger or did you have to do some fancy work?

I dunno the right technical vocabulary for this, but I kept the lense open for 30 seconds, camera mounted on a tripod..and after the second try, there was this lightning during those 30 secs!

A cessna C172 crashed from eledtrical failure shortly after takeoff  :P

I'd be more concerned about the turbulence than I would about the lightning.  ;) :D  "Cessna 172 crashes due to catastrophic structural failure."  :D

Actualy, it splits up, since it forms from bottom to top, then it rips open the air particles so the current can pass through. Although i could be wrong.
