OS - Spitfire alert! :D

Postby Mictheslik » Sun May 25, 2008 3:19 pm

Highlight of the day was the two ship display of Rob Lamplough's MkVIII and MH434 (MkIX)

Some superb flying with quite a low cloudbase (they did get split up on one occasion entering the cloud, but managed to hold close formation for the majority of the display). This was also helped by the organisers placing the crowdline closer to the action than at most displays.....either that or I'm starting to notice the extra 100mm ;)

Anyway enjoy! (especially Mark ;) )

Very nice indeed Mic. This might explain why MH434 didn't show up at Goodwood yesterday.

Lovely shots! I'll post my efforts when I get back home tomorrow. Pity that many of the star items couldn't get there but still a good day nonetheless (and my first show with the 400D!).  :)

Certainly nice to see Robs' Mk VIII out at and about. One of the lesser seen of the breed. :)

"Shared" victories were a bit more numerous amongst that allies - criteria for claiming and being credited with a "kill" were a bit more stringent on this side of the channel. I think that's partly why the top German aces, other than time on the Eastern front, ended up with hundreds of kills.
