Hollywood snapshots-pt 1

Postby beaky » Thu May 22, 2008 8:22 pm

Four days in Hollywood, CA recently... not much time to do anything besides work, and the weather was awful (for L.A.), but I did walk around a bit, had a couple of decent meals, and took some souvenir snaps...

The job site was in Universal City, and so was this nifty indoor skydiving thing... I was toying with the idea, but never got around to it.

Typical scene along Highland Ave; lots of these nice Art Deco pastel-colored buildings and cool neon signs around here. Mel's Drive-In (no longer a drive-in) is a pretty good old-school diner; had a nice brunch there.

Grauman's Chinese Theater, on Hollywood Blvd. Annoying tourists everywhere... not my scene. but I love this building!

We did drive up Mulholland Drive at one point, to check out the scenic overlook up there.  Had to get a picture of this thing, I guess... ;D

one more set- a little spotting...

Did you see a Yellow Ford Coupe or Black Chevy when you were at Mel's?  ;)

Was the Red Carpet at Grauman's for you??

I have a picture of the Hollywood from a different angle.  We were at the Griffith Park Observatory when I got the shot.  Not a good angle.

Great shots, Have fun and you should have done the skydiving thing!!

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

I see the air quality in Hollywood hasn't improved. On the day I visited that Hollywood sign was invisible.

#!: I was there on business, which makes me a traveler, not a tourist. ;)

#2: I'm not annoying (usually). ;D
