I think, if I remember correctly, German law allows the use for historical purposes and teaching. If you go to the Gatow aircraft museum, all the aircraft of the time have swastikas on them. I think that most people assume a blanket ban to be safe. I have just been to the international model show in Dortmund and all swastikas where covered up from the smallest 1:144 to 1:4 scale aircraft. At the end of the day, a 60 year old glider or a 1:24 scale ME 109 is hardly going to whip the far right into a goose stepping frenzy.

Yeah, all this covering is ridiculous, as well the banning of Hitlers "Mein Kampf". Several people over here went to jail for owning it. The book itself is far from being brilliant, so I dont really understand.

I didn't expect this to generate a political discussion. We're used to seeing German WWII aircraft bearing the swastika & there are several based at Old Warden. I've posted my photos of these on this forum many times without any adverse comments.

Wow, never saw anything like that before haha, very cool that everyone teamed up and got'er airborn, thanks for sharing!  (I showed this to my troops and made them appreciate their job a bit more)

Love that "AVRO"...a real aeroplane  ;)

Doug is that the "AVRO" that was featured in my favourite flying movie of all time "Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines"?

Darn you Doug now I am going to HUM that tune all day and drive the old girl off her rocker... ;D LOL

If you look closely you can see the titling of "Sir Percy Ware-Armitage" under the pilot on the fuselage. :)
