Apparently, the airport was originally a naval air station as far back as 1929.  

The large circle in the middle of the airfield was the original runway, which meant that you had a 3000' runway into the wind, regardless of which direction the wind was blowing.




My thoughts were right then. A concrete air "field". It'd be interesting to see historical views or maps.

Wow, I wish I had enough time to search for a website of a random aircraft picture from the six million or so websites that there are.........................admittedly, five million of those are sex related, so that narrowed it down a bit ;D ;D

Grosse Ile Municipal Airport, Grosse Ile, MI (KONZ)



Wow, I wish I had enough time to search for a website of a random aircraft picture from the six million or so websites that there are.........................admittedly, five million of those are sex related, so that narrowed it down a bit ;D ;D

2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.
