If you have any filter options on your camera, try to use the yellow and see how it changes your contrast values ......in film work, back last Century I used to use one all the time when the light levels would comply with the shots I was trying to get............

Nice.... I like B/W shots...

Very nice depth of field also!

Perhaps you could try to make the tip of the pen more in focus, as is seems the focus is a bit further to the back at the moment.

And here I thought it should have been shot at F 16 or less and a desktop brace of some sort (tri-pod) ........too little depth of field of focus for my liking.........to each his own......... 8-)

Two ends of the spectrum of focus could look like this if you have the minimum aperture to work with....both shots were done on a tri-pod. Focus point was top of the

I really should get one of those.  Of course, I'm not sure I would bring it with me to work ;).  Basically the shots I took at work were aimed at exposures (I now know why I can't move the exposure bar in manual mode ;D).  I'll be playing around more  and posting them here soon.

Well, I think Ruptured Duck did a great job on presenting a mundain object in a slightly more arty way. If the whole pen would have been in focus, it would have been a very average photo imho.  ;)
