I need an 8 Gb card,......

......or four 2 gig cards.....just in case the one large one crashes, and you lose all you've shot at a once in a life-time airshow day !

Hmmm... how much RAW do you get on a 2 gig CF card? (It's all I've got for now - I'll have to buy some more when airshow season comes.)

Probably about 250 (seeing as I get around 500 on a 4Gb). A rough estimate, but around that figure.

I get around 200 - 250 RAW files on my 2 Gb card. At my latest spottingtrip I switched to Jpeg, so I could take over 500 shots. For an airshow I'd personally buy a little extra memory, as I took over 500 shots in a couple of hours during events this summer.

Yeah... probably will get another two 2 gig cards nearer to the airshow season.  :)

I don't rely on a load of cards, just rotate two 1GB cards, I use one whilst the other one uploads to the image tank. Of course, there is always a spare 512 to hand, in case of emergency. ;)

Well, that should do the trick... until the moment the imagetank crashes offcourse...  ;D

My father just bought amazing MP3, photo-videotank, multimediacombo. Could be handy on long shooting days, but it sets you back another pile of cash. Cash that I'd rather spend on another lens... It's an expensive hobby, that's what it is...  ;D

For my day in the sun, I carry a high speed two gig Compact Flash card in the cam along with another lower speed 1 gig Extreme Digital for moving files so I have three gigs in the camera and another 512 Compact Flash in the bag.
But just to ensure I have more than enough, I can bring along my new 7 MP Casio and its three - 2 Gig SD cards........I think I can last the day with the ability to shoot up to 9 hrs of 640x480 - 30 fps video, in addition to my stills. Anyone got a spare hand to lend ?......... ::)

The best place for buying equipment is a friendly local camera shop....it may be a little more expensive, but if it's faulty it's pretty simple to replace....had to do that for my first 2Gb CF card...they were quite happy to replace it for me....with the next model up ;)

I carry a 2Gb and a spare 1Gb with me....seems to be sufficient normally....

Oh, and about the Sandisk being fake quote....I heard somewhere that most cards are just made in the same factory and sold at varying prices depending on the label anyway....

i get about 110 RAW shots on my cam, but it also saves all the images as a JPEG, wich i find a disadvantage since i already got RAW.
