Excellent shot! Might I ask, whats the Chippie like to fly?? Its on my list of 'things I'd like to own in the future!'  ;D

Goodmorning Canuck... :)

Wonderful shot of the DHC-1 Chipmunk, great aircraft to fly and your shot certainly brings back some fond memories.  I never found them that cold in mid-winter and we used to have them on skis as well.  ;)
I hear we are losing a lot of precious items to our good neighbours in the United States who are coming across the border and buying up everything from old firetrucks, steam engines, boats and aircraft.  It is too bad our Provincial or "Federal Governments don't help out more with different types of museums, flying and static.

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Nice pic (I still find the Canadian bubble-canopy looks odd compared to the British green-house look ).
Jake the Chippie is a joy to fly and remains one of my absolute favourites to fly.... after all I learnt to be an aerobatic deity in one (courtesy of the RAF) ;) 8-)

Goodmorning Kris... :)

Royal Canadian Air Force aircraft were painted yellow to denote Training Aircraft, in the vastness of this country there were airfields scattered all over.  With the British Commonwealth Air Training Program in full operation during the Second World War training aircraft were in the air night and day.  If an aircraft went down over a remote area it was much easier to spot in those colours.
I guess one would say the military used common sense in those days.   ;)

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug
