Nice shots Steve, I'm sure you used a Tripod for these, shows the difference from FSNovice shots, although I like the effect that the movement gives his shots.  Mark

mark, these shots are better in terms of clarity, you need to remember that my shots were taken from a busy crowd situation so a tripod was inappropriate and crazy!!!!

nice shots Steve

FsNovice, I realized yours were hand held, I was just pointing out the two different effects that you can get, I like the hand held shots and the way that it blur's the colors. Mark

Thanks folks, I did indeed use a tripod, I just found a quieter spot at the edge of the crowd. If you want to use a tripod don't let a crowd put you off. Act like you own the place and be creative in finding a good clear location, then let everyone else keep the hell out of your way  ;)

If you act like you know what you are doing, then people will probably give you some space, whether you really do or not  ;D

I got some more close up shots of the fireworks whch worked pretty well, but I liked the foreground effect in a couple of these. The second one for example was a 10sec exposure. Impossible hand held, and had the effect of catching the reflected light and picking out the colour in the trees.

I may post a couple of the close up firework ones too,

Steve
