Halloween is a good opportunity for anyone with a grudge to carry it out. Being close to Bonfire Night with fireworks readily available makes this even more worrying in the UK. Having fireworks stuffed through your letterbox is the latest 'trick'. I found this clip from a CCTV camera showing one of these attacks taking place last night. http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/nol/newsid_7070000/newsid_7071700/7071733.stm?bw=bb&mp=wm&asb=1&news=1

The police & news media might put this down to a 'Halloween prank' but it's obviously more sinister & I suspect racially motivated.

That really bites, Cory. Judging by how close the impact was to the actual body of the car, it could have been a lot worse if it hit the trunk.

  Your right, James!!  Thank God it only hit the glass!!!!!

::)...

"Gate Night", "Cabbage Night" or "Mischief Night" has been around a long time in the US... I think somewhere along the line the original "give us candy or we'll do something nasty" spirit ("trick or treat") split into two holidays.
Kids make mischief the night before, then go for a handout at the same house the next night.
That's not right.
There was probably a lot less harmful mischief back when the idea of "trick or treat" was more sinister, but people were more generous... everyone would have a good laugh, and the evil spirits would be mollified for another year.

When I was a kid, egg-throwing, toilet-papering, and soaping windows (LOL!! Soap...) was the worst most kids would do in my neighborhood... I think my brother and I only worked up the courage to go out on "Cabbage Night" once... we were afraid of getting pelted with eggs. :D

Going around for candy was much more fun... back then, at least, it was a very warm ritual with the neighbors. I'm lucky I got some amazing homemade treats back before people stopped doing that. We also got hot cider and even toys, sometimes- many of our neighbors were old-school German immigrants, and they really knew how to crank up the hospitality machine! ;D

Cory, sorry to see this happened, It really makes you mad, but if you go after them then you are the one in trouble, thats what is wrong with this country, the criminals have all the rights and the victims don't. When I was young, I would never have done something like that because if that person caught you, you were going to get you a$$ beat. Now they don't have to worry about that, because you can't touch them, and its going to get worse.

Thanks, Mark and I know what you mean.  I talk allot about what i would have done if I caught them but, I know the law protects the criminal more then the victim and I would have ended up in more trouble!! >:(

 When I was younger and like what Sean said earlier we use to use soap, shaving cream, toilet paper and molasses ( for on car & house door handles ) as our mischief night ammunition.  This way if we got caught we knew it would be easy to clean up!! :)
Now they do destruction and we can't do anything about it if we catch without having to worry about a lawsuit or worse.

Sucks big time!!!! >:(
