The big pit

Postby FsNovice » Wed Oct 17, 2007 4:00 pm

I posted some while back some shots from my summer holiday snaps. went rummaging around the network today, and found my dad had uploaded some that i didnt know about :o :o :o Thought i'd post them here as i thought they were rather cool!

Taken just after we had arrived, went to the Big Pit in south wales, a old mine turned museum. I'm the one on the far right - shock horror ;D
Image

Unfortunately couldnt take any photos in the mine, cameras were contraband, due to dry cell batteries (battery acid+explosive gasses = bad!) but my dad took this one of me and my brother and sister in all our attire

Image

After reemerging from the mine - which was very very cold! - got to see what had been taking us down and safely brought us back to ground again

Hope you like, btw i dont take all the credit for some of these photos, like the ones with me in!!!

Looks like an interesting place, a shame no cameras are allowed down the mine.  :(

went there on a school trip.
some of the worst weather I have ever experienced in my life. The wind on the top of the hill litterally blew people off their feet.
Pretty cool place though.

Pity about not letting you take your camera down there...Would've been fantastic to see some shots from inside...Still, these are fantastic... ;)

Dunno how the lighting was...
For that kind of situations, you need a batteryless camera with some really fast film in it

you could get away with using like one of those original cameras that had no batteries, or use one that used wet cells, would weigh a ton though.
Cheers guys for all the positive comments

What does Opera have to do with anything? The forum Search should work in any browser. http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?action=search
