Random Static Displays

Postby Aerophile » Mon Sep 17, 2007 7:19 pm

I recently found these photos in an album I have forgotten about.  They were all taken with my 35mm Canon SLR, so the image quality is not all that great, but they're still fun to look at.  I'll leave it up to you guys to name them.  Should be easy to do though.

Nice pictures. It is always fun to look through old pictures you have taken. My posted C5a pictures, I had totally forgotten about them until someone posted a picture, the title of which, made me think of them.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

These shots have a nice retro-feel to them... I guess the colours and softness contribute to that... Very nice!

They were taken about three years ago or so.

No unfortunately not.  To bad I didn't get a better shot of it.

Yup. Interesting story... One night, my student and I diverted to the airport in Breckenridge, TX where he keeps all his planes because we encountered some unforecast deteriorating weather conditions and severe thunderstorms that were blocking our route in a VFR only airplane powered by a rubberband and held together with Lego blocks, i.e. a Diamond Katana aka the plastic wagon.

Anway, we wound up staying in the little building the county keeps open over there.  The next morning it was IFR so we walked over to this warbird restoration shop and over to his "museum" as well.  The restoration shop was pretty cool as we saw a P-38 that they were restoring for Red Bull, an F-4 Corsair airframe, a couple of p-51s, and Pardue's Staggerwing.  Was pretty cool.  I was too tired and cranky though from only getting three hours of sleep while still in my work uniform on metal chairs that I pushed together to take any pictures.  Kinda wish I had though.  Oh well.
