RAFA BoB Airshow 07: WW2 Scramble Pt.1

Postby Mictheslik » Sat Sep 15, 2007 5:30 pm

Just putting up the airfield attack pictures tonight.

Sadly, the Hurricane was lost during this display. As a tribute, all six spitfires formed up for a missing man formation.

The attack consisted of two Me108s and the 109 Buchon....scrambled were six spitfires and two hurricanes

The aforementioned Hurri...such a sad loss of both a wonderful pilot and machine.... :'(

At this moment Sean nobody is 100% sure what happened. The Hurri appeared to stall and crash into the ground. We'll have to wait for the CAA report to know the full story.

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

Eerie to think that we see the pilot and plane take off for the last time... so unaware of what's comming...

A pity that such a tradgedy has to overshadow the show and these terrific shots!
