Spotting KSAN- part 1

Postby beaky » Thu Aug 30, 2007 9:16 pm

Left work early today to go get my FAA medical card renewed, and I am happy to report I am alive, can breathe, can see, can hear, and do not have anything to worry about in my urine. So I can legally fly Saturday (yyeesss!!!) ;D

Just a few blocks away from the doc's lies San Diego Int'l (or "Lindbergh Field" as my instructor calls it)...
so afterwards I wandered around a bit and tried to reel in some good ones.

This place has major potential!! ;D

Great shots, Sean. I remember when I was there in December, we were about to march in the Bay Parade and wishing I was in a pair of shorts and t-shirt with a camera pointed at SAN arrivals than inside of a wool marching uniform in 75

Terrific Shots!!!  I lived next to Lindbergh Field for the first 3 months of my career (Boot Camp, literally right next to it, theres only a fence seperating the Marine Corps Recruit Depot from the runway)  and I had never gone to that spot where you took those shots, great view!!

I remember in boot camp everytime a plane took off we were all wishing we were on it going home  ;D  Then I got stationed there for three years and got to watch all those planes all day everyday, but never thought to get any shots  >:(  Thanks for posting them, made me miss good ol SD, best big city in the states!

You should swing by MCRD tomorrow morning (friday) for the recruit graduation, always a good parade, watching all those kids become Marines...Plus it's always fun to watch the recruits that are still in training getting their butts ripped to shreds by Drill Instructors.  I believe the grad starts at 11am.  Just in case you were interested, I'm sure you have a busy schedule but I figured I'd throw that in for ya  :)
