You obviously haven't experienced the latest model. My nephew's wife drove a Opel Vectra GTS ( 2.2 Diesel) and let me assure you, it was a mighty fine car to drive! But then she traded compagnies and now she drive a VW Polo... major setback!

Naaah,I'm talking about one of the older models of vectra (vauxhall in this country, but no difference in the actual car as far as I'm aware) - my dad has one of those, and there's nothing about it that is in any way pleasant. ::)

SB you want an unpleasent ride...

a suzuki 'tin can' alto over 100mph now thats unpleasent :P
yet awesome to do 8-)

John's Suzi story reminds me of the time when I squeezed our fully loaden 1990 Nissan Micra to over 160 Kph on the Autobahn.

Now that was suicidal! ;D

I only got it to 130 once. Like I said, very unstable at that speed and I swore I'd never push it that fast EVER again.
I know it was irresponsible, but it was a clear, dry road... I've also had on track high speed car handling training and racing car experience.  ;)

plus you know... what else do you do on empty motorways at 3 in the morning ::) :P

Vectra with Saab logos? (AKA 900NG?)
Mine does 100MPH whitout getting unstable... and it isnt an Aero or Viggen. It doesnt have the bunper kits either.

A new Vectra 2.8 V6 24V Turbo should perform nicely... Opel has come a long way with their cars...

Worst handling car around (at least JC from topgear says that). But it sure does look nice from behind.

unfortunatly i dont drive a porsche 911 bi-turbo instead its a 1litre suzuki alto..... called suzi the tank

Probably the old 'made in india' one... Or are you the lucky owner of one of those blue race-striped speed demons?

Anyway... For the Vectra haters: dont forget the new Opel ranking (in 2007). Vectra is now on the same level as the entry Omega, with the Astra filling the Vectra gap. The Corsa has been moved up a bit to make space for the Agila (rebadged Suzuki Wagon R+)
Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and An-24RV[/ur

I bet driving a Suzuki Alto at 103 mph is like sitting on a roller skate on a ski jump slope.  :o

And I thought my Vectra was unstable at 130 mph.. just a bit over the speed limit.  ;)

Not that either of you have tried it of course, have you? ;)

it wasnt that bad, although the reaction of the cadets in the car was hilarious, dont think my CO was to happy when i went past him on teh m42 at 95mph

Mmm, I don't think they/their families/the ACO/your family (being sued) would be very happy if you ended up as front page news the following day... :-?

Still, even if it doesn't happen to you, or anyone you know, it's best not to put the "ammunition" in the public domain...
