Technik Museum Speyer

Postby Mictheslik » Wed Jul 18, 2007 3:25 pm

Some from the museum we visited whilst in Germany...I wanted to go to Sinsheim to see concorde and the Tu144 but apparently Speyer is bigger....we did drive past Sinsheim though  8-)

You can go in most of the big aircraft and I have loads of interior shots....there loads of stuff here...aircraft, cars, musical instruments, trains, ships...you name it it's probably here ;)

Some are small to get file sizes down

Hind....drool...East German air force....unfortunately the cannon had been removed :(

Wooo...the only british aircraft here....makes a change to go to an aircraft museum and not see spits :D

The museum's prized posession....the Lufthansa 742

On all the stilt planes you could go inside...and I tell you now...climbing the spiral staircase from the lower to top deck of a 747 is not easy when its at a heavy bank ;)

If you want to see more I could set up a photobucket album where I'm not limited by filesize.

Yes... very British. ;D Been intrigued by those ever since I saw one at the New England museum.

I like the way they angled each mounted plane slightly at Speyer... a nice touch.

Geez, brings back memories.

And I bet the red, unmarked Fitter belonged to the LSK/NVA inventory as well.

Theres a video of the An-22 somewhere on the net.

They flew it in on the GA airfield close to the museum (only 800 meters of runway)
