For TSC: another one :)

Postby Daube » Fri Jul 20, 2007 8:13 am

Hi all,

I usually do not post any pictures here, but I have just recently noticed the car of TSC., and he asked for some pictures of mine, so here we go:

It's a BMW 740 with a 245 hp Diesel engine, V8 bi-turbo with auto-sequential gearbox. A great pleasure to drive between France and Germany, through the higways of Italy and Switzerland (for business travels, in fact) :D
Here are two pictures showing the inside of the car, with beige and black board, and beige everything-else :)

The car is "individual" series, that is full options + some individual options if I understood right, however I could not name them for sure :P
This is full of more-or-less usefull electronic stuff, some I like, some I don't, but I surely love my car

Whoa! Nicely preserved! This must be one of the latest models of that version...

Omag... feeling very poor all of the sudden...   ;D

Omag, a nicely preserved 740i would cost something around 10 or 12.000 euros nowadays, even less, for a very reliable V8 benzine engine. I've even seen one for sale for 10.000 euros, with only 97.000 kms !.. Ok it had very few options, and a green interior (that looked terrible :P ) but however, you don't need to be rich to buy one of those cars.

TSC, I strongly agree with you, low profile wheels (with, like, 19 or 20 inches rims) look muuuuuuuuch better on that car... but man, those wheels cost alsmost as much as the car itself :P

Here are the picture of the mini-tables :)

Additionnaly, I don't have a picture of them but there are mirrors with lights in the head support part of the front seat, so that the back passengers can makeup :P
And as a bonus, a picture of the engine:

As for the options in this cars:
- Electric front seats with memory for driver
- massage front seats
- heating front seats
- electrochromatic central mirror
- fully electric and electrochromatic outside mirrors (that IS cool !! )
- front and backward parking radars
- cruise control
- and old GPS which displays either only a fix map with my position, either arrows for indicating the direction to choose
- TV (reception is really bad, though)
- 6 CD charger
- Aux-IN jack (cool for the MP3 player :) )
- mini-table and mirrors with light for the back passengers
- automatic wipers
- electric trunk door
- Xenon front lights with automatic levelling
- M-style steering wheel
- electric sunblind for the back window (those on the back doors windows are manual of course)
- electric opening roof
- and some other stuff I have forgotten :P

But why do you use a "Ausfuhrkennzeichen" (export-license-plate?) on your priv. car???  :-?

Because I did those pictures shortly after buying the car, in end of March this year.
I bought it in Germany while I was on a business trip, then I drove it back to France with those plates. They were valid (with included insurance) only for 15 days, the time required for me to obtain some new permanent plates in France. :)

Thanks for the extra pictures Daube, those tables are a nice touch. One thing I have noticed on my car is that the rear armrest will comforatbly fit two bottles of vino.

I'd put a pic of my recently hand cleaned by me engine bay. But its dark, plus it looks kind of crappy in comparison. ;D I'm strongly considering an M3 engine though, a car breakers I use every now and again has one thats apparently in  very good condition..

OK, I agree, but once you bought the car, here in Belgium, you'll go bankrupt paying for gas, inssurance, taxes and maintenance!  ;)

Omag... driving that "disirable" type of German car... Opel  ;)
