There never was a Yak-11 in Normandie-Niemen colors... only Yak-7's (and of these there arent much left)

But it does fit the plane well

I agree with Steven, double canopy spits look a bit odd, but they are better than no Spitfires at all, that's what I say!  ;D

When you own an aeroplane you can paint it any colours you like! The great thing about the Yak-11 is its close similarity to the earlier fighter members of the family, and hence the ease of using wartime schemes on them.

From the front of the wing to the tail it's a yak-3... with a radial up front and clipped wings. Most recent Yak-3s started their life as a Yak-11

No, the pilot/owner is a guy called Anthony Hodgson....the chap under the wing was with him and was in the back seat when he took off back home. I assumed he was his engineer, but that may be doing the chap a disservice  :-[

And I like 2 seater Spitfires.......unlikely as it may be they represent possibly my only ever chance of getting to fly a Spitfire.....now where's that overdraft application again  :-?  ;)  ;D
