Naturellement M'sieu. It's a Naval Aircraft Factory N3N-3. http://aeroweb.brooklyn.cuny.edu/specs/naf/n3n-3.htm

N3N on wheels? Quite rare considering they were actually sea-based.

Sadly, nothing much about production numbers of certain variations in my source.

Yet a nice aircraft.

There don't appear to be different designations for wheel or float versions which seems unusual. It's possible that it was supplied with both types of undercarriage which could be quickly changed as & when necessary. This was a design requirement for RN aircraft of the era.

Yes but it was used mainly as a primary trainer until superceded by the Stearman. I suspect most N3N-3s were land-based. http://www.nasm.si.edu/research/aero/aircraft/NAF_N3N.htm
