Cool Cloud Formation

Postby Jakemaster » Mon May 14, 2007 9:42 pm

Show of hands: Who thought these were going to be GROUND based pictures?

Anyways, I luckily looked out the window just in time to see this really awesome cloud formation as we descended into Houston earlier this evening.  I quickly fumbled through my bag to get my camera and managed to snap 3 pretty good pictures.

I'm gonna go with 737 just on the fact that Southwest rules Texas in commercial flights ;D

Very cool shots, reminded me of the cloud that rolls in, in the Independence Day film

Well Monkey, you may note that the 737 does not have Vortilions and I wasn't flying Southwest...

Bjorn: Nice try, but again, Vortilions...

And bok: You got it, but what model number?

Hmm... what do you mean? I have no idea!  ;D

I'm going for a roll cloud... the other type that looks a bit like this one, is a shelf-cloud, but they preceed severe thunderstorms, so this should be a roll cloud...
