I had a wonderful time at the International Microlight Exhibition at Popham last Saturday. After a dull grey start the sun came out & from then on it was just about perfect. My friend remarked that the circuit was busier than Heathrow with flying machines of all descriptions landing & taking off throughout the day. I reckon it at least equalled last year's total of well over 500 visiting aircraft on this small grass airfield in the beautiful Hampshire countryside. Like a mini-Oshkosh & all ran like clockwork thanks to the voluntary officials. I've been trawling through all the photos I took to try & convey some of the atmosphere. Here's just a few different types of microlight proving that grass roots flying is alive & kicking in this country.
This one reminds me of Thomas the Tank Engine.
