Also............ why tell your age if your under 15?

Why not?

Because once your 15 your less likely to be abducted by a 43 year old

What kind of stupid reason is that? ::)

Try not meeting complete strangers and giving out your home address. You'll soon see how easy it is not to get abducted.

When you get outside and are in public areas all the time, then you have more of a reason to worry

You must live in a pretty rough area if you worry every time you step outside. ;D

This is getting ridiculous. I don't know if Gamer is telling the truth or not but I see no reason for him to lie.  Why shouldn't he be proud of flying a plane at his age? This confirms what he's saying about that flight. Look at the photo. http://www.airdiscovery.co.nz/Default.asp?Page=37
I should have checked it out before.

There are two things I still cannot understand about this topic. Why Gamer didn't post a bigger image of the plane he flew in & why it's created so much interest in such a short time. 1322 views & counting when topics by our best regular contributors on the same page average less than 200. ::)

I am strugeling to beleive that a 11 year old was allowed to take control of a Cessna. It is against the law and that instructer should be jailed.

It's not against any law. How many more times? ::)

Jessica Dubroff, who flew when she was 7 years old. The Cessna Cardinal carrying Jessica, her father, Lloyd Dubroff, and her flight instructor, Joe Reid, crashed just minutes after takeoff on April 11, 1996, in Cheyenne, Wyo., killing all aboard.

Anyone can legally fly an airplane at any age with an instructor, as evidenced by Jessica Dubroff, however, it doesn't seem to have been the best choice in this case, although it was her instructor who was flying at the time of the crash.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jessica_Dubroff

Also, the EAA's Young Eagles program provides a free flight to anyone between the ages of 8 and 17.

What in the world are you basing that off of? Also the grammar nazi in me is coming out :P

Its not "strugeling" its struggling
Its not "beleive" its believe
Its not "instructer" its instructor

I dream about being abducted by a 23 year old blond bombshell every day... :P

...its not against the law, but it is most certainly in very bad judgment. Most 11 year olds need a booster seat just to see over the instrument panel for starters...not to mention they're psycologically not ready to be in control of any motorized vehical more dangerous than a lawn mower (...I'll give them the lawn mover only because I believe 11 year olds can and should be exploited in the form of lawn services with little or no pay.)

What the heck are you talking about? Anyone would think this is something unusual. Some 11 year-olds are almost as tall as I am. I don't know the rules of that club in New Zealand but these are typical conditions for a trial flight in the UK. http://www.solentsf.co.uk/trial_conditions.html

Trial Flight Conditions

Very few: Because the flight is under the command of the instructor, there are no stipulations regarding minimum age or health. Although of course young people need to be tall enough to see through the windshield!

Beyond this, you need to be sober, and able enough to clamber into the plane.

Sorry, but we cannot book individuals who weigh over 17 stone.

We do reserve the right to decline to fly anyone, if in our judgement they are not fit to fly.
