There is no law that I know of for dual instruction. However, in the UK the hours won't count towards your licence until you're 14 & you obviously wouldn't be allowed solo. The minimum age might vary according to country & individual flying clubs will have their own rules. Depending on the location the minimum age requirement for a trial lesson in the UK is between 8 to 13 years old. Note that Gamer64 is in New Zealand.

I can't understand how this topic has had so many views in such a short time. ::)

PS. There are no regulations covering the minimum age of passengers.

I don't understand the scepticism. I often see people of all ages having their first trial lesson at my local airport. It's a popular birthday present. Check this out. http://www.southernflyingcentre.co.uk/flying-vouchers.htm

Wow!...there's an unusual extra treat....>>>>

"Land-Away and Short Stop-Over Options"

What an excellent idea!...Pop over to France!... :)...!

All you skeptics are just jealous ;) I know I am!  I haven't been airborne in anything smaller than an ERJ-135 and have never been in the cockpit of a plane during flight.  Its not like he flew the plane all alone, there was an instructor, so I mean what's the big deal?

Let them speak for themselves. :) I've been up dozens of times in several different GA and ultralight planes. I consider myself to be very lucky with the amount of flying I'm able to do.

I don't know why under 15 would matter, I would understand if you said 18 but why 15? :P

Edit: once again, ndsp, why post twice within 60 seconds of each other? click the edit button!

What kind of stupid reason is that? ::)

Try not meeting complete strangers and giving out your home address. You'll soon see how easy it is not to get abducted.

How 'bout a 44 year old? Or do they go for the 17 year olds? Like me. Oh no! Now I'm going to get abducted!
