How'd you manage that??

I am highly skeptical of all this.

So you pay $99 and they would entrust an eleven-year-old with a $250,000 airplane?

what? its not like a instructor would just sit in the co-pilots seat and just let me shove the yoke forward and send the aircraft into a dive, would they?

Most countries allow students to begin at around that age... and on an "intro" or "discovery" flight they do indeed let you "take it", within perceived limits. I was a lot older when I took my intro ride, but I knew about as much about flying as any 12-yr-old, and the instructor barely touched the controls. Prior to that I once had the stick of a J3 handed to me in flight when I didn't have a clue what I was doing... it's child's play, really... the basic handling of a light single, that is.

Congrats, Gamer... and when did 12-yr-olds start saying "wicked" again? ;D My little friends and I were calling everything "wicked" almost- cough- 40 years ago...didn't know it was back "in".

You can have that, but stay away from "tuff" and "outrageous"... those belong in the dustbin of history... :D

I don't understand the scepticism. I often see people of all ages having their first trial lesson at my local airport. It's a popular birthday present. Check this out. http://www.southernflyingcentre.co.uk/flying-vouchers.htm

(Q) Are there any age restrictions?
