Nothing quite like that sound (except maybe a Stearman).
About.... face! This gentleman really knows how to handle that powerful advanced trainer.
Ditto the T28 flew a good set, too... with smoke generators on the wingtips instead of "show oil" squirted into the exhaust...
Maybe it's just the nature of this kind of smoke, but I could swear the wingtip vortices were holding it together... I really like this shot.
And note the difference in the smoke trails in this shot of a barrel roll entry: looks like the ascending wing is generating a more powerful vortice than the descending wing... down in the let corner of the shot, the right vortice is very tight, even after a second or two... seems consistent with the increase in lift as that wing started to come up. I may be wrong, but who cares? It was a fun display...
