No camera, but imagine...

Postby beaky » Wed Mar 28, 2007 7:56 pm

Sorry to put this here- no pics- but these sightings would have made great shots...

Been working inside, but yesterday there was a minor fire inside CentCom (not our fault) that had us outside for a few hours. Saw a Blue angels F18 horsing around over the field; show smoke and all. There was a USCG Herky doing go-arounds... and a few of the usual KC-135s.

Then today, just as we were leaving, another F18 took off and did a blistering vertical climb, then a tight turn after which it blasted off out over the bay.
Then another C130 in olive drab came buzzing low over the field, dropping chutes... couldn't tell what thewy were, but that was neat. Then the Herc banked steeply righ over us, and as I followed it, it passed in front of a beutiful half-moon against a perfect blue sky... sun was low behind me... would have been perfect.

Not allowed to whip out a camera here, so I'll just have to store those on the ol' wetware.
Hope you liked them... ;D

Still not sure if I'll make the show this weekend...may have to work both days. I'll keep the camera in the car just in case , as we will get outside for lunch, and i can probably get away with taking some pics in the parking lot while the show is on.

Hmmmm......nice imaginary pictures Sean. ;D

They really sound nice though, I'm surprised you explained it so well in less than a thousand words...;)

Oh well, it's just always the way, you never have (or can't have) the camera just when you need it.

Still thanks for the 'shots', personally I think they're some of the best you've taken  ;). Great thing imagination...... :)

I've seen a C130 simulating cargo drops so I know what it looks like (without the actual chutes albeit!) so I'd say it was brilliant! 8-)

Even better (although sheer torture w/o a camera) was when it passed in front of that big, rising moon...it was a stunning shot.

The BAs and a T6 were zooming around today... still not sure if I'll be free to attend the show, but I'm bringin' the camera tomorrow to try to get some clandestine snaps from the parking lot during the lunch break.
