[/url]Maybe I'm weird, but I'd rather spend two days flying across the US in this than 6 hours in any modern jetliner...great job they've done here. They will soon be carrying pax on short flights for $150 a head... she's based in Kansas City, where AA has graciously provided free hangar space and an office for the foundation that owns her.

[/url]The office...I probably should have asked to have a seat, but I think I'll wait until I scrounge the money for a type rating. I spoke at great length with another crew member who told me to get my multi cert. and give them a call... he also was quite familiar with this site and the MAAM-Sim DC-3... he told me that they keep the throttles at 2900 on approach in this bird because the engines don't like to get near idle in flight- suggested I try that in the sim. Could require a little climb to slow down, but according to him, that's the way it's done. Nice guy- in all the DC-3-induced euphoria, I neglected to introduce myself. He's also currently working on his B-25 rating... must be nice.
