Super Connie / 747-400

Postby DizZa » Mon Mar 26, 2007 6:06 am

Hey all
Heres some pictures I took at the Avalon airshow. It was amazing, we were allowed to walk, and touch nearly all the planes here. I also watched the Qantas mech connect a super tug to the 747. The 747 soon departed minutes after I had a nice look around it.

The Connie was the best sounding plane I've ever heard! It also amazed me how tiny the cockpit of it was.

The 747 shot is A.net worthy? Comments Welcome.

Please view more shots here: http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2 ... 74907537/0

EDIT: I don't want these pictures up here for to long, as if my parents find out I don't think they'll be happy, so could I possibly remove these after a week?

Very interesting. I love that Connie. ;)

I think you have a way to go yet. Don't be so anxious about Anet. Concentrate on taking good photos.

EDIT: I don't want these pictures up here for to long, as if my parents find out I don't think they'll be happy, so could I possibly remove these after a week?

You can delete your original topic any time you wish but it will leave the rest of the thread. Seems pointless to me.

PS. If posting your photos here would upset your parents how would they feel about them being on Anet? ::)

Good shots- about the A. net thing, though: problem with shots of things like 747s is that they are so common there, you have to have not just a well-composed shot, but a super-high-quality shot. It's a matter, largely, of having a very expensive camera and lens.
But unusual shots are allowed to be a bit "sub-par"... you never know. Been thinking of posting some of my cockpit shots- I've seen shots of rare or old cockpits there that are not perfect, just good.

Bottom line, however: don't ask us- submit them and see what they say. ;)

Oh, I love that Connie. They had here static here for years at YSSY, and I remember countless nights (at the age of 3 to about 5) of going to the airport with my dad to see her...  :) Anyone know where she (Connie) is stationed now?  ;)

Well, I use a fake name for A.net, and two, it's a photography site, not really a forum where you chat to people.

Yeah, but the edit function goes away soon after you post a topic, I thought delete MAY of been the same..

Thanks for comments everyone!!1

Yep.

I think it's at the Historical Aircraft Society base, wherever that is.  ;)

Why don't you look it up? Historical Aircraft Restoration Society

Because I didn't want to, as I wasn't even sure if the HARS owned it.

See:
